Center for Preservation Initiatives (CPI) is please to announce a fall internship opportunity. The purpose of this internship is to aid in educating future professionals in the arena of practical practices for funding preservation, focusing on not-for-profits.

There are two main functions this internship holds. The first is to assist and organize our main annual fundraiser. Every year CPI and our sister organization Preservation Action hold a gala and auction in conjunction with the National Trust Conference. You would be in charge of communicating with donors and collecting and cataloging items and underwriting, assist in production of materials and over all concepts of the gala and auction. You will get the opportunity to travel. This internship not only gives one great experience but also an all expenses paid trip to Tulsa, Oklahomas National Trust Conference. You would assist in the event onsite and visibility of the organization at the conference. Although your main focus at the conference would be assisting the organization, there would the opportunity to attend lectures or education sessions. This internship is a great opportunity for you to meet preservationist from all over the nation.

The second part of the internship is preservation policy related. You would assist the Executive Director in research and writing which is a vitally important role in the production of our Grassroots Guides and Hearings, our national publications. You would attend and report on congressional hearings and at the National Conference experience events hand in hand with our Executive Director.

The intern will work out of the office of Preservation Action in Washington, DC.
