The City of Rockville has a long and rich history as the political, cultural, and economic center of Montgomery County. With more than 250 years of growth as a community, Rockville is home to many historically and culturally significant sites. The City's Historic Preservation Office manages designated historic resources through its five-member volunteer Historic District Commission. The commission is supported by staff in the City's Department of Community Planning and Development Services. Internship, Architectural Survey

City of Rockville

$12.  Per hour/ 40 hours week

Intern is needed to perform basic architectural and historical survey of specific properties. Knowledge of American architectural styles, architectural nomenclature and basic historic research skills required. Use of City vehicle requires valid drivers license. Survey information needs to be recorded in the field and regularly entered into Historic Building Survey database. Ability to work with digital photography and associated software. GIS mapping skills considered a plus. Position could be extended beyond summer to part-time.
