It is also a unique Boston cultural resource and historic site, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Its 250 acres offer the public a magnificent arboretum, open air museum, and tranquil sanctuary just minutes away from downtown Boston.

The Forest Hills Cemetery Educational Trust has been awarded a prestigious grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to begin documenting the magnificent Victorian monuments that make Forest Hills an outdoor museum. These monuments were created by highly skilled carvers and sculptors. This project involves outdoor field survey work and data input into our newly developed database.
