The City of Lake Oswego is a full-service municipality providing poliece, fire, water roads, planning, building inspection, code enforcement service, library services, parks and recreation. The Lake Oswego City Charter establishes a "council-manager" form of government. In this form of government, legeslative and policy authority is vested in a volunteer city council, while the administrative authority for day to day operations is vested in the appointed professional city manager.

The City of Lake Oswego is currently seeking a graduate student enrolled in an accredited program in historic perservation to assist with historical site survey work and preparation of a national register nomination. The individual selected for the internship will report to the City's Preservatin Planner and work under the supervision of a professional hisotirc preservation consultant.
