The intern will be responsible for improving the web site of the International National Trusts Organisation (INTO). INTO is a network of preservation and conservation organizations from around the world  an international community of "National Trusts" - with a mission to promote the conservation and enhancement of the cultural and natural heritage of all nations.

This is a semester long, volunteer internship with flexible hours (5-10 hours/week) and schedule (within Monday  Friday framework).

Duties

The intern will work to upgrade the design of the INTO website (within the existing template: www.internationaltrusts.org ) through pictures, improved graphics, etc.

The intern will also seek appropriate information for the INTO audience and then add that information to the INTO web site. This will include material from the web sites of the member organizations of INTO, materials from the National Trust for Historic Preservation's web site www.PreservationNation.org, and similar sources.

This project will expose the student to a wide variety of projects undertaken by the international preservation and conservation community. It will also an intern with basic knowledge of web design and web-site construction an opportunity to grow and apply those skills on an independent project with international exposure.

Qualifications

Interest in both historic preservation and online communication. Intern should know basic HTML, Wordpress, and have some knowledge of preparing images for online use using Photoshop or another image editing program. Familiarity with the potential and mechanics of web 2.0 social networking features a plus.
