This position is open to graduate students in Historic Preservation or allied fields, providing applicants have completed some coursework in preservation. The position is eligible for matching funds for Cornell University graduate students in the department of City and Regional Planning through the cooperative internship program. The salary is $3750 with this program. Without matching funds, the salary is $1875.

The 2009 intern will continue work on the Tompkins County Barn Survey which was begun in 2008. The intern will perform site visits, documenting agricultural structures photographically and in writing.

Coursework or experience in architectural history or survey/fieldwork is strongly recommended. Applicants must have access to a vehicle. The intern will work 20 hours per week for 10 weeks during the summer of 2009. Scheduling is flexible.
