The City of Quincy, Illinois is seeking candidates for the position of Historic Preservation Summer Intern in the Department of Planning and Development. Candidates must be competent in architectural history and property research, be good writers, and have professional work habits. College undergraduate juniors and seniors in the fields of Historic Preservation, Architecture, Urban Planning, Geography, English, or Communications, or graduate students in those fields, may apply. Enrollment in a graduate program is preferred.

Quincy (pop. 40,366) is located on the Mississippi River in west-central Illinois. Quincy has four National Register Historic Districts, three Local Historic Districts, and 91 individual Local Landmark properties.

Salary: $12.00 per hour

Length of Employment: 35 hours per week for 10 weeks

Starting Date: Flexible (mid-May to early June)
