Historic New England seeks a Cultural Landscape Intern to work with its Property Care staff during Summer 2008. Property Care is the team responsible for the preservation and maintenance of 36 historic house museums and their landscapes located in five New England states. The Cultural Landscape Intern will create a cultural landscape inventory for Castle Tucker, a Historic New England property in Wiscasset, Maine. This inventory will organize information about the landscape's features, structures, circulation and vegetation into a report format and will identify key images, diagrams and plans for scanning by Historic New England's Library and Archives. The inventory, upon completion, will assist staff in making management decisions about the property. Applicants working toward an advanced degree in landscape architecture, landscape history, historic preservation, art history or another related field with an interest in landscape history and interpretation are encouraged to apply.
