" Bachelor degree in one of the following: planning, business administration, architecture, public administration, public relations, or associated community revitalization fields, or equivalent experience;

" Experience in business retention, recruitment, and creation, real estate development, and marketing/public relations;

" Successful history of interaction with both the private and public sectors;

" Willingness and ability to assume a highly visible position as the key spokesperson and advocate for Czech Village / New Bohemia Main Street Urban Neighborhood District;

" Ability to develop a rapport with independent individuals from the business community, the real estate community, the public sector and the community at large;

" Management style that motivates and fosters cooperation; and

" High level of energy and commitment to the revitalization of Czech Village / New Bohemia Main Street Urban Neighborhood District.

The Director must have an intimate working knowledge of the community as a whole and specifically the district. Therefore, the Director must be a resident of Cedar Rapids or be willing to relocate within 90 days to Cedar Rapids.
