Key Role:

Provide day-to day support to a key government client in the area of Environmental and Historic Preservation (EHP) Compliance. Assist federal grant applicants and program analysts with identifying potential environmental impacts of their proposed projects. Assist with the identification and evaluation of environmental impacts and support the development of formal EHP processes and tools. Provide training to non-environmental staff and grant applicants to educate them on the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other applicable requirements. Generate awareness on how to best address EHP requirements in a complete and efficient manner. Support the development of Categorical Exclusion documentation and provide recommendations to client management. Brief client management on the status of EHP affairs relative to grant program management and provide recommendations on how to better integrate the EHP and grant management processes.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with working for the federal government

-3+ years of experience with developing environmental assessments, environmental impact statements, or other National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation

-Knowledge of environmental and historic preservation requirements

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, or Natural Science

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with historic preservation

-Experience with cultural resources training

-Knowledge of grant management processes

-Ability to show professional certification training in environmental planning

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-MA or MS degree in Environmental Planning or a related field

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
