Analytical Environmental Services (AES), a Sacramento based environmental consulting firm, has an opening for an on-call Historian /Architectural Historian. The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers in the production of Section 106, NEPA and CEQA documents.

To be considered for the position, applicants must: possess an M.A. or Ph.D. in history, architectural history, or closely related field; meet the Secretary of the Interiors qualifications for history and architectural history; have a demonstrable record of completing architectural evaluations and have significant experience with Section 106 compliance; have the ability to conduct archival and technical research; have excellent written and oral communication skills; have the ability to meet aggressive deadlines; have experience using MS Word, Excel, Access, and Powerpoint; and be willing to travel.

This is an on-call, hourly position. The successful candidate will be assigned work as it becomes available.
