POSITION:

Field Archaeologist/Curation Specialist position (Research Associate II Special) available with the Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands, to be assigned at Fort Riley, Kansas. Position is contingent on the availability of funds.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

BS/BA in anthropology, history, or closely related field. Three years of professional experience in archaeology and cultural resources management. Candidate must have a demonstrated knowledge of archaeological survey methodology, site testing methodology, and field data recording, and ability to direct fieldwork. Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions and rugged terrain with minimum supervision. Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid U.S. drivers license. CSU conduct background check on final candidate.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS IN ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

Demonstrated knowledge of Sections 106 and 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 (as amended), 36 CFR 800, Archeological Resources Protection Act, Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act, Army Regulation 200-4, and other pertinent laws and regulations governing historic properties. Experience with archaeological artifact analysis, cataloging, and curation. Knowledge of database software packages applied to archaeological records management. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

SALARY: Range $35,000-$37,000
