BROAD SCOPE OF POSITION The Communications Coordinator is responsible for: " Assisting in the production of marketing materials (including the Colorado Preservationist magazine) " Implementing media relations and internal/external communications " Managing the website and social networking sites " Database Management " Maintaining community calendar " E-newsletters and E-blasts DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES A. Build & Safeguard Organizational Brand: Help build CPI brand identity internally and with external audiences; develop and manage brand standards. This will be done by working directly with the Executive Director, Director of Development & Public Outreach and the External Marketing Team on the design and branding of all internal and external communications. B. Online Communications: Develop and maintain an up-to-date organizational website. Ensure that website is responsive to the needs of a variety of visitors. Develop and implement strategic use of social media outlets. Work with staff to generate and manage website content. C. Publications: Assist in coordinating the acquisition of content, and collaborate on the writing, design, and publication of the monthly e-newsletter, e-blasts, and the quarterly magazine. Coordinate and create other marketing materials as needed. D. Media Relations: Create and maintain a standard CPI press packet and help coordinate media events and staff media interviews. Manage internal daily news clipping service and media archives library. Assist in the development and implementation of marketing tactics designed to meet the communications needs of the organization, and expand the network of people connected to our mission. E. Community Outreach: Help identify CPI external audiences and assist in strategic outreach efforts. Maintain accurate and up-to-date data to facilitate effective outreach. Maintain the membership database. Help in the development of a strong membership campaign and work with staff to strengthen membership incentives. QUALIFICATIONS Specific Qualifications: " Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, History, or closely related field preferred, but not required " Must be proficient in: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat " Knowledge of social media networking " Working knowledge of Exceed Premiere database preferred General Qualifications: " Good interpersonal and communication skills " Strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, and ability to be a self-starter " Fanatical attention to detail " Excellent writing and editing skills |
