Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill our open position for a Historic Preservation Specialist in our Minneapolis, MN office. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: completing activities for Section 106 compliance including the identification and evaluation of historic resources while applying the National Register Criteria; completing primary and secondary research; conducting site visits to document historic properties; preparing reports including historic contexts, building descriptions, property histories and evaluation of properties; and preparing National Register nominations. Some travel will be required. The successful candidate will possess: " A masters degree in historic preservation or related field such as: history, architectural history, art history, public history; " At least two years of relevant experience The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following: an understanding of Section 106 regulations and cultural resource management; experience with the application of National Register criteria; experience developing historic contexts; experience conducting surveys and preparing property descriptions and histories; database development and management experience; and the ability to demonstrate strong research, writing, and photography skills.
