Preservation Delaware, Inc. (PDI) is seeking an Executive Director. Headquartered in Wilmington, PDI is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of Delawares architectural heritage and historic settings through education, public policy initiatives, and advocacy.

The Executive Director is the chief administrative officer of PDI. The Executive Director is responsible for the daily management of the PDI main office in Wilmington, oversight of the Southern Delaware field representative located in Lewes and implementation of Board objectives consistent with the organizations mission, annual plan, and financial goals.

The ability to meet strict deadlines, supervise staff, manage contracted services, and to work cooperatively with grassroots advocates, members, trustees and public officials is imperative. In addition, the ability to travel and to work some evenings and weekends is expected. This position is located in Wilmington and reports to the Board of Trustees of PDI.

Required Qualifications:

" Undergraduate degree in preservation or related filed required, graduate degree preferred.

" Five years increasingly responsible experience with a non-profit organization.

" Experience working with a budget and financial record keeping.

" Proven development and fundraising ability.

" Event planning and implementation experience.

" Experience supervising paid and volunteer staff and working with a volunteer Board of Trustees.

" Ability to work effectively with people of varying interests and backgrounds, from grassroots advocates to

elected officials.

Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.

" Skilled knowledge of Microsoft applications.

" A current drivers license and a willingness to travel.

Desired Qualifications:

" Knowledge of QuickBooks and the ability to learn and work with alternate membership software.
