Part-time Development Officer
Overview of responsibilities: To implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure financial support for the programs and services of the Association.
Relationships: Responsible to the Executive Director. Relates to the Board of Trustees, volunteers and the public as necessary to carry out job functions.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
" Work with Executive Director and Trustees to design a sustainable and long term funding strategy.
" Organize and support fundraising efforts by Trustees and volunteers.
" Develop a fund-raising plan.
" Research and identify potential donors, including foundation and corporate donors.
" Cultivate and solicit cash and in-kind donations through letters, brochures, presentations, personal phone calls and visits.
" Manage the membership program, increase CPA membership and enhance member services.
" Manage the Annual Fund (End-of-Year Appeal).
" Develop a Planned Giving Program.
" Grant writing.
" Other duties and responsibilities as agreed upon with the Executive Director.
" 3 to 5 years experience in fundraising.
" Ability to manage multiple projects with multiple deadlines.
" Exceptional organizational and communication skills, including writing, speaking and listening.
" Interest in and enthusiasm for historic preservation.
" Willingness and ability to work occasionally on weekends and/or evenings as needed.
" Ability to manage and work with volunteers.
" Computer proficiency - knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel required. Experience with eTapestry preferred.
