Job Description : URS is seeking talented professionals to join the Architectural History Team in the companys Gaithersburg, Maryland office. Located just 25 miles from the Nations Capital, the Gaithersburg office is a dynamic profit center in one of the top architectural design, engineering, and construction firms in the nation. The successful candidate will join a cultural resource management group that includes Architectural Historians, Historians, Historic Architects, Archaeologists, and Conservators working together in a collegial, intellectually-stimulating environment that fosters professional development.

The successful candidate will primarily provide support to Federal clients including agencies such as FEMA, USACE, and NASA. Work will encompass the full scope of CRM activities including: architectural and cultural resource survey; National Register evaluation through determinations of eligibility and formal NR nominations; effects determinations pursuant to Section 106 as well as cultural resource impacts assessments in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act; documentation and recordation of historic properties; the support of Section 106 agreement document development; and preparation of CRM training. The Architectural Historian will work under the supervision of the Architectural History Team Lead and will provide technical support to Project Managers as assigned.

This position will require long-term, on-site support to major clients and as such may require travel for extended periods of 3 consecutive months or more. Accordingly, the successful candidate must be a flexible, enthusiastic, proactive professional committed to client development and one who can perform efficiently in a team environment.
