Education: Masters in architecture, architectural history, history, historic preservation, planning, or other related field.

Experience: 3 years experience in architecture, architectural history, history, historic preservation, planning, or other related field, to include 3 years experience in the preparation of national, state, or local register nominations.

Job Description:

" Work with all aspects of the State and National Register programs and the New Mexico Official Scenic Historic Marker program;

" Respond to individuals and governmental agencies requesting information on aspects of New Mexico history;

" Serve as area expert in New Mexico history and historic preservation issues;

" Perform compliance review and ensure conformance to State and Federal preservation laws and guidelines and provide assistance defining areas of survey and effect and developing programmatic and memorandum of agreements and mitigation documents;

" Provide technical assistance to the public and governmental agencies to access significance of historical and cultural resources;

" Oversee the site file section and registered cultural resource database.
