2010 Summer Fellowships

Preserve Rhode Island is offering four (4) paid Summer 2010 fellowships for graduate students currently enrolled in a qualified academic program or very recently graduated. The available fellowships are as follows:

1. One (1) fellow for research and content development relating to the launch of a regional web-portal addressing energy efficiency resources for old homes.

2. One (1) fellow to study the need for a statewide preservation revolving fund and assess alternatives for establishment and operation.

3. Two (2) fellows to construct a learning cooperative for the Historic Sites Coalition of Rhode Island, proposing a multi-year initiative to foster strategic collaboration between sites, with the goal of creating stronger, higher capacity, historic site organizations.

These fellowships will be for eight (8) weeks at thirty (30) hours per week, beginning on or about June 1, 2010. Stipend for fellows will be $4,500. They will be based at the Jeremiah Dexter House, Preserve Rhode Islandís headquarters, in Providence, Rhode Island. Fellows are responsible for their own computers, transportation and housing.

Please specify in the cover letter which fellowship(s) applying for. Interviews will be scheduled for the last week of April with acceptances conveyed by May 7, 2010. Phone calls not accepted, please refer all questions via email to the address stated previously. Applications must be received by 5:00 PM on Friday, April 16, 2010.
