Garcia and Associates (GANDA) is seeking a Senior Architectural Historian to work from one of our offices in northern California. Specifically, we are looking for a senior architectural historian to work on a variety of projects, including transportation and utility projects, who meets the Secretary of the Interior's Historic Preservation Professional Qualification Standards for architectural history/history, a minimum of five years experince, and a Master’s degree with expertise in the following areas:

Project management experience, preparing proposals, managing budgets, and coordinating with staff, and clients.

Experience conducting CRHR and NRHP historic resources inventories and evaluations.

Strong working knowledge of the history and architecture of California and the western United States.

Expertise and strong understanding of Section 106, CEQA and applying the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.

Demonstrated experience preparing Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS) documentation.

Strong aptitude for research, photo-documentation, and superior writing skills.

Experience coordinating with the California Office of Historic Preservation and other state and federal agencies.

The selected candidate will have strong writing skills and be capable of preparing DPR523 forms, Historic Resources Technical Reports and Context Statements, and historic resources sections of EIR/EIS documents.
