Temporary full-time staff position in the Center for Historic Preservation is available immediately through June 14, 2011. Responsibilities: examine historic properties managed by the Indiana Army National Guard (INARNG) that are eligible for listing on the National Register; provide the INARNG with a report documenting the findings of the examinations; assist the INARNG in the negotiation and development of at least one programmatic agreement for maintenance and repair of their historic properties. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in historic preservation or a closely related field or equivalent; at least one year of full-time professional experience in research, writing or teaching in American architectural history or restoration architecture with an academic institution, historical organization or agency, museum or other professional institution; OR have made a substantial contribution through research and publication to the body of scholarly knowledge in the field of American architectural history; must be able to obtain a military driver's license and pass a background check to obtain a military CAC card (not required to be current or former military). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in historic preservation or a closely related field; listed or eligible for listing on the Indiana Division of Historic Preservation and Archaeology's Qualified Professional Rooster; familiar with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties and the National Park Service Preservation Briefs. Starting salary is $33,051/yr. with excellent benefits package. |
