Position Description The Preservation Associate will assist the Director of Preservation Services in implementing preservation advocacy initiatives and special projects. The candidate will also engage in some archival and collections management activities. Responsibilities include: coordination of the organization’s Endangered Sites Program development and management of social media networks and contentevaluation and augmentation of current website creation of digital image collections for websiteliaison with community groups, local governments, and individuals to assist and support local preservation efforts public program developmentcontribution to the Society’s newsletterQualifications This position requires a self-motivated person with excellent writing skills and experience in developing, sourcing, and managing web-based content. The candidate must have a strong knowledge of historic preservation and/or social or architectural history, and good verbal communication skills. An advanced degree in historic preservation or related field is required. Experience with GIS, Microsoft Excel, and archive management software is a plus. |
