Kleinfelder / SEA Consultants is seeking an Architectural Historian to join us in our Augusta, ME office. The successful candidate will have familiarity with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and able to work well in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities will include conducting surveys to identify, photograph and document historic and cultural resources that are eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places. The duties will also involve preparing determination of effect documentation, memoranda of agreement and Section 106-related mitigation reports and projects. Previous experience with Historic American Engineering Record and/or Historic American Building standards is a plus. At a minimum, the candidate will meet the Secretary of Interior's Professional Qualification Standards as published in 36 CFR Part 61. Generally, this would require a graduate degree in Architectural History, Historic Preservation, or a closely related field or a bachelor's degree in one of those fields plus at least two years of related work experience. This will be a full-time position. The majority of the work will be located in Maine, although out-of-state assignments may also occur.
