Experienced architect with demonstrable success in the preservation of historic buildings. Candidate should meet The Secretary of Interior's Professional Qualification Standards for Historic Architect and have 3 years experience in similar position(s). Responsibilities include: participation in the historical and physical condition assessment of buildings, production of reports, plans and specifications, and completion of construction administration duties while strictly adhering to project scope, schedule and budget.
Applicants are to possess all of the following skills, interests or experience: Experience documenting, evaluating and researching historic buildings to HABS/HAER standards;Thorough familiarity with the Secretary of Interior Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties;Experience with materials conservation and building condition assessment;Knowledge of American architectural history;Strong computer skills with AutoCAD preferred; command of InDesign and Photoshop desirable; Excellent communication skills;Capacity to work well in a team environment; andInterest and ability to travel throughout the Eastern and Central states (primarily the Southeast).The following skills or experiences are desirable but not required: Project management skills and experience including occassional coordination of other team members, project budget preparation and development of client relationships;Ability to present project findings in a public setting. |
