Description: The Planning Department is seeking qualified applicants for a Planning position with the Community Information and Outreach division. This position requires experience in preservation and community planning. Responsibilities will include: review, analysis and presentation of applications before the County's Architectural Review Board (Loudoun County Historic Review Committee) and assistance with the administration of the historic districts. Will assist in preparation, coordination, and implementation of long range policy initiatives, including the County’s Heritage Preservation Plan and other County preservation efforts and general community outreach. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Expertise in Arcinfo/ Arcview GIS software desirable.

Job Requirements: Education and experience equal to a Bachelor's degree and two years related experience in comprehensive planning. An emphasis in historic preservation planning is preferred.

Special Requirements: Attendance of night meetings is expected. Prefer Master's degree. Experience with publishing software and development of informational material and documents is desired.
