The position opening is for a full-time in-house Architectural Historian/Historic Preservation Professional position to perform Section 106 reviews of telecommunication sites located throughout primarily the New York City metropolitan area. Candidates must meet the Secretary of the Interior's Qualification Standards in Architectural History in accordance with 36 CFR Part 61. This includes the education and experience requirements. The position responsibilities include performing and overseeing historical resources identification research at the New Jersey SHPO offices and online on the New York SHPO GIS Resources website, appropriate field surveys and report preparation and review. The Historian will be responsible for making determinations as to the potential effects the proposed undertaking may have on Historic Properties, and if adverse effects exist, offer mitigations measures. Must be highly organized, have the ability to multitask and work on multiple projects at one time and be highly computer literate (Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat), and be able to work independently. Experience with Section 106 work on telecommunication sites is very desirable. |
