You may apply as an Open Competitive candidate if you are a US Citizen. The incumbent serves as a principal member within the Branch of Cultural Resources and reports directly to the Branch Chief. Professional fields of study and expertise must be pertinent to the park's resources and themes and may include, but are not limited to, cultural anthropology, history, historic preservation, archeology, ethnology, historic landscape architecture, and historic architecture. The position will be filled from one of the occupational series pertinent to the park resources and themes. Area Information: This position will be located at park headquarters in Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone National Park. Elevation at Mammoth is 6,200 feet. Temperatures vary from an average of 70 degrees Fahrenheit in summer to sub-zero in winter. A school is available, with kindergarten through 12, in Gardiner, Montana, five miles north of headquarters. Free bus transportation is provided for school children between Mammoth and Gardiner. A medical clinic is available in Mammoth. All other services are available within 55 to 75 miles from Mammoth. Government housing may be available on a bid basis. Serve as a cultural resource specialist within the Branch of Cultural Resources - Assess architectural documentation and condition of historic structures - Oversee the implementation of a historic structure strategy for Yellowstone - Work with other divisions and branches to ensure compliance with cultural resource law policy and regulation park-wide - Communicate cultural resource requirements to diverse groups of internal and external stakeholders (SEE FULL JOB LISTING FOR FULL QUALIFICATIONS) |
