This position is located at Naval Facilities Engineering Command for the Department Of Navy Deputy Federal Preservation Officer at NAVFAC HQ. The incumbent will employ expert knowledge of cultural resources regulations and general DODIDON policy to develop and implement service-specific policy and procedures. The incumbent will represent Navy in interservice/interagency & non-governmental organization (NGO) settings concerning cultural resources issues, management and policy. The incumbent will support cultural resources program management oversight of CNlC and NAVFAC field commands, including policy, technical and budgetary oversight. The incumbent will provide headquarters support to difficult, controversial, or potentially precedential field compliance actions to CNlC and NAVFAC field commands as assigned. The incumbent will provide disciplinary expertise in archaeology and Native American consultation matters to supported Navy and DOD organizations as assigned.

This includes expertise in cultural resources laws and regulations, including but not limited to National Historic Preservation Act, Archaeological Resources Protection Act, Native American Graves and Repatriation Act, and associated regulations.
