G.C. Environmental, Inc. is a Suffolk County, New York, based environmental consulting firm seeking a full-time Architectural Historian to manage our Section 106/NEPA Review projects for various telecommunications clientele. Only candidates that meet the Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualification Standards can be considered (http://www.nps.gov/history/local-law/arch_stnds_9.htm). If necessary, the Historian may also potentially be required to conduct the appropriate field work (primarily located in NYC and Long Island). The Historian will evaluate and determine the potential effects the proposed undertaking will have on historic properties, and if effects exist, offer solutions to mitigate these effects.

The right candidate needs to be extremely well organized (we deal with deadlines and with multiple projects at a time), computer literate, and be able to take direction and work independently. Experience is helpful.
