Position: Part-Time Instructors Historic Preservation Program Starting: Spring Quarter 2011 Savannah Technical College is seeking part-time instructors experienced in the Historic Preservation trades. Education and Occupational Experiences: • Bachelor’s Degree in Historic Preservation, Architecture, Architectural History, or related fields. Master’s preferred. • Must have demonstrated professional experience in one or more of the following areas: Plaster, Decorative Finishes, Carpentry, Ceramics Faux Finishes or Masonry restoration and replication. • Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills. • Supervisory or Teaching experience at a postsecondary institution is desirable. • Daily teaching duties include class lecture, lesson planning, and classroom management. Responsibilities • Coordinate and perform actual work on lab sites. • Other duties assigned. Physical Demands Work is typically performed in a construction / lab environment with the employee intermittently sitting, climbing, or standing. The employee frequently lifts objects up to 50LBS. The ability to speak clearly is required. The ability to hear and understand at a normal conversational level is required. Salary is commensurate with education and work experience. |
