The Antebellum house (and property) at Springfield Plantation is an amazing historical resource located in Fort Mill, SC. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in recognition of its historical significance at the state level for many reasons. It is the oldest documented extant frame structure in York County. Additionally, the house has remained in the possession of the Springs family since its construction before 1806. The Springs family has had a significant role in the development of the state of South Carolina through economic, political, and agricultural leadership. |
