Develops goals and programming priorities for the Center that match local needs and resources; sustains a regional network of groups, programs, and individuals focused on public archaeology; and facilitates the communication and outreach among these entities. Manages and develops an annual budget; writes monthly, quarterly and annual reports; and oversees the use and care of facilities and equipment of the Center. Serves as the first point of contact for archaeology information in the region; provides assistance to local governments, and to the State of Florida's Division of Historical Resources in their respective missions relating to cultural resources, preservation and heritage tourism in Southwest Florida; and makes presentations on behalf of the Network to public and professional audiences. Works with the interested public, avocational archaeologists, volunteers, government officials, business leaders, and civic groups in order to educate and inform, to develop heritage tourism outcomes, and to encourage preservation as business practice and public policy. Supervises an office staff, interns, and volunteers assigned to the center. |
