Cultural Resource Analysts, Inc. is seeking qualified candidates at the
Staff Archaeologist level to join our corporate headquarters in Lexington,
Kentucky. The ideal candidate will have a M.A. in anthropology with a
specialization in prehistoric or historical archaeology. Candidate must have
at least three years of cultural resource contracting experience at the
field director level and meet the Secretary of the Interior Standards (36
CFR Part 61) in archaeology. Other qualifications include excellent writing
and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, and
technological proficiency that includes some experience working with
databases. A working knowledge of relevant historic preservation legislation
and regulations is essential. Applicant will be registered with the Register
of Professional Archaeologists or will be eligible for listing as a RPA.
Primary duties: Responsible for assigned phase I (inventory-level survey),
phase II (National Register evaluation), and phase III projects throughout
the Ohio Valley, Midwest and Southeastern US. This will involve conducting
pre-field research, directing fieldwork and laboratory analyses, and
preparing technical reports. It is imperative that candidate be able to work
8-10 hour days in a variety of conditions and understands that there will be
frequent stays away from the office. Stooping, bending, and lifting are
essential functions of this position.
