Overview Preserve Rhode Island has one (1) opening for a summer fellowship funded by the 1772 Foundation. This substantive learning experience will involve two fellows which Preserve Rhode Island will supervise to advance the Historic Site Coalition of Rhode Island and Preserve Rhode Island’s newly established revolving fund program. Fellows will work from Preserve Rhode Island’s headquarters in Providence, Rhode Island. Eligible applicants are required to have their own transportation, computer and lodging. Start Date: June 13, 2011 End Date: August 12, 2011 Fellow responsibilities: 1. Assist in creating co-marketing materials for the Historic Sites Coalition to augment the historic sites sustainability initiative that the Foundation is currently supporting. 2. To compile a resource list for the newly established revolving fund, including names, capacities and areas of interest of developers, architects and other real estate professionals who would be available to assist PRI in evaluating the feasibility of revolving fund projects, assess site and market conditions, and evaluate building conditions and needs. 3. To research and assemble project specific information for at least four possible revolving fund projects, including ownership, zoning, conditions, partners, funding pathways, etc. Fellows would review how information is assembled using active revolving funds as a model and develop procedures for Rhode Island.
Stipend: $4,500
Experience/Education: Graduate student in historic preservation, business, real estate or related field. Experience in a non-profit context, management and some understanding of architecture preferred. |
