Clinton Brown Company is a full-service historic preservation architecture firm. We collaboratively design the revitalization of heritage buildings and communities through project concept, planning, architectural design, and management services for renovation, rehabilitation, and historic preservation projects. We are seeking an Intern to conduct research for several projects in Planning, Historic Preservation, Architectural History, Marketing or Business for our Buffalo, NY office. CBCA is presently working on a collaborative effort to list nearly 1700 architecturally and culturally significant historic properties to the National Register of Historic Places. The National Register of Historic Places is the nation’s official list of important buildings, districts, structures and sites. We seek one or two skilled and enthusiastic interns to assist with special research projects as an Independent Study or Internship for school credit. These positions may especially appeal to students enrolled in historic preservation, architectural history or planning programs, but all are welcome to apply. Local candidates preferred, but there is a possible opportunity for portions of work to be completed remotely. These research projects include: • Researching various historic preservation opportunities • Compiling databases of National Register eligible properties • Preliminary research on potential historic districts • Assess current historic preservation services in certain areas Successful candidates should have excellent interpersonal and time management skills, experience with common office software, including Microsoft Word and Excel, and equipment. The intern must be able to work independently, under the supervision of CBCA personnel. Previous office experience is encouraged but not required; experience in marketing, business, historic research and planning is preferred.
