The Georgia Trust seeks motivated, responsible, organized individual to coordinate daily operations of Hay House in Macon, Georgia and manages all aspects of the use of Hay House as a historic house museum/tourist destination/education resource and site for rentals and special events. The Director manages the Hay House, coordinates individual and group tours, maintenance services and monitors annual budget. They act as staff liaison to The Georgia Trust and the Hay House Boards and coordinate Hay House board fund-raising efforts, assist the board in planning and implementing strategic goals. The Director leads a team of full-time and part-time employees, docents, volunteers, and rental staff whose responsibilities include public relations and marketing, fund raising, educational programs and resources, interpretative tours, docent and volunteer coordination, collection records and management, museum store operations, rental events, financial operations and patron and corporate records. Drafts annual budget for Hay House and ensure revenues and expenses remain at expected levels. Cultivates and builds relationships between donors and Hay House. Participates in restoration planning, budgeting, fundraising and coordination. Coordinates all local grant applications and researches and prepares some of those applications.

Qualifications:

Minimum with a masterís degree in museum studies or related field and five years professional development experience in museums, including supervisory and budget preparation responsibilities, fund raising for a nonprofit organization and working with nonprofit boards, committees, donors and volunteers. Excellent organizational skills, writing and verbal skills, and interpersonal and marketing skills essential. Computer literacy required. Ability to work/live in Macon, Georgia.

Compensation:

Full-time position with full benefits $45,000 to $50,000.
