Specific duties: Serve as agent to the architectural review board. Implement and maintain a preservation plan. Manage historic survey & nomination activities.Manage grants used to carry out preservation activities. Provide training to property owners on the use of historic preservation tax credits. Coordinate seminars to targeted groups to communicate the importance of preservation. Carry out activities and complete required reports to maintain Roanoke’s Certified Local Government status. Support other planning staff in long-range planning efforts as needed. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in planning, historic preservation, architectural history, or related field, with Master’s preferred. 3-5 years related experience in an urban communityThorough knowledge of preservation, urban design, and development codes. |
