The School of Architecture in the College of Fine and Applied Arts seeks applications for full-time, nine-month, tenure-track faculty positions beginning August 16, 2012. Nationally ranked, the School continues to forge new opportunities for its BS in AS, M.Arch, MSAS and PhD programs. The University of Illinois is a Research I institution located in Urbana–Champaign; a vibrant university community recognized as a major center for the arts and technology. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses addressing 19th and 20th Century Architecture History and Contemporary Architecture, participate in teaching an introductory architectural history survey course, and teach graduate seminars related to his or her area of research. Candidates who are seeking to teach in a professional architecture program and to participate in the design studio curriculum are encouraged to apply. A PhD with a specialization in modern architectural history and contemporary architecture is required with a first professional degree in Architecture preferred. The candidate must bring evidence of scholarly promise and a willingness to actively participate in the Ph.D. degree program.
