Page & Turnbull, an award-winning preservation architecture firm, is looking for an experienced preservation planner/architectural historian to lead and manage our Cultural Resource Studio efforts in Los Angeles. This position is available immediately. RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and manage project work plans, budgets, & schedules. Oversee teams performing historic resource surveys. Prepare a variety of reports, including, but not limited to: Historic Context Statements, Historic Structure Reports, Environmental Impact Technical Reports, Preservation Plans, Design Guidelines, National Register Nominations, Federal Tax Credit Certification documentation, and HABS/HAER reports. Developing best practices for the office. Business development. REQUIREMENTS: 4-8 years professional experience. Meet the National Park Services Professional Qualifications Standards (Code of Federal Regulations, 36 CFR Part 61) for Architectural History or History. Familiarity with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Knowledge of Los Angeles/Southern California architectural history, historic building techniques, and historic preservation planning and policy. Experience in identifying, documenting, and evaluating historic properties for planning and environmental compliance purposes. Outstanding research, writing, proofreading and editing skills. Ability to manage teams for large projects and work individually on smaller projects. Fluency in the Microsoft Office program suite. PREFERRED QUALITIES: Experience with the Adobe CS4 Suite and a working knowledge of database programs and ESRI GIS software Commitment to participation in a professional organization. |
