The City of Fort Smith is interested in obtaining the services of a professional preservation consultant to reevaluate resources and prepare an updated architectural resource survey and National Register Nomination for the Belle Grove Historic District, which includes approximately 140 properties. The last survey was performed in 2000 therefore only the properties with significant changes will need to be resurveyed; however, the National Register Nomination was performed in the 1970’s and will need to be resubmitted. The survey and nomination must be completed by April 2, 2012.

Qualifications should include experience with architectural resource surveys, experience with National Register nominations, capacity to perform the work, past record of performance, and familiarity with the area to be surveyed. Depending on experience, the consultant may need to obtain survey training from the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program before the work commences.
