This position exists to assist the National and State Register Coordinator in administering the registration element of the National Historic Preservation Act and the State Register Act in the State of Colorado. The Historian assists in preparing, editing, researching, and rewriting information entered in National and State Register of Historic Places registration forms and assists in the planning and preparation of meetings of the National and State Register Review Boards. The Historian reviews and provides technical assistance regarding historic context documents. The Historian provides property determinations of eligibility for the National and State Registers. The Historian will further assist with other unit responsibilities as necessary, including assisting with the statewide preservation plan on a cyclical schedule as specified by the National Park Service. This position is a non-classified, full time position, exempt from overtime under the Fair Labor Standards Act, reporting to the Director of the Preservation Planning Unit of the Office of Archaeology and Historic Preservation, and serving at the pleasure of the Board of Directors. This position has been exempted from the State Personnel System. |
