Downtown Poplar Bluff, Inc. is seeking an energetic, creative, full-time executive director.  The city of Poplar Bluff is a 2007 D.R.E.A.M. community.  This is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide leadership and a management role in historic downtown revitalization.  The successful candidate should possess leadership and administrative skills, initiative, the ability to work well with others and develop consensus, diplomacy, excellent oral and written communication skills and strong computer skills.  The successful candidate should also possess a strong sense of historical preservation, act as a downtown advocate and take a lead in strategic planning and budgeting.  Experience in obtaining funding from various sources, grant-writing and administration and allocating resources and have five or more years of experience in one or more of the following areas:  architecture, business administration, downtown management, economic development, finance, historic preservation, planning, public administration and public relations.  A degree in business administration or related field is preferred.  The salary for this position will be in the 35,000 to 40,000 range.  The City of Poplar Bluff is an Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity Employer.
