Colorado Preservation Inc

HistoriCorps™ is a national initiative that promotes hands-on public involvement in the restoration and preservation of historic places and structures on our public lands through the engagement and mobilization of volunteers, student learning groups, youth training programs and organizations interested in historic preservation. HistoriCorps™ is a partnership between two key nonprofit organizations as well as with federal, state and local land management agencies, primarily the USDA Forest Service, National Park Service and the Bureau of Land Management. HistoriCorps™ launched on a regional level in 2009 through an innovative public private partnership between a statewide historic preservation nonprofit, Colorado Preservation, Inc. (CPI), whose mission is to advocate for historic places; a statewide volunteer organization, Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC) dedicated to the stewardship of natural and built environments; and a federal agency, the United States Forest Service (USFS) with responsibility for thousands of historic and cultural resources.
