A few questions: Do you love raising money? No, seriously- do your friends think you're strange because of how much you love raising money? How about events experience? We put on several world-class events each year for up to 500 attendees; think you can handle the pressure? Finally, do you have a real passion for saving America's history by saving endangered Civil War battlefields? We recently launched a $40 million capital campaign, have already raised more than half our goal, and we seek a Development Associate who loves building relationships and cultivating members of our major donor society, The Color Bearers ($1,000-$10,000+), while helping to put on several major events per year. Previous non-profit donor development/administrative/events experience preferred (2-5+ years), but we do sometimes hire outside the box, for the right person. Position is based at our downtown DC national HQ; some travel required (25-35%). Qualities sought: Exceptional work ethic, attention to detail, initiative, polished professionalism, creativity, entrepreneurial spirit, proficiency on all Microsoft Office programs, and the requirement to excel as part of a highly functioning and collegial team as well as in one-on-one situations with little or no supervision. Proficiency with Raiser's Edge preferred. Great benefits/great work environment. Visit our world-class website at www.civilwar.org. |
