Richard Grubb & Associates (RGA) is currently seeking a motivated and talented Historian/Architectural Historian to work in our Cranbury, New Jersey office. The successful candidate must have a Masters degree in History, Architectural History, Historic Preservation or closely related field, and experience conducting historical research and writing. Experience in cultural resources management, Section 106 studies, and Mid-Atlantic architectural history is preferred but not required.
Duties of the Historian/Architectural Historian will include detailed historical research from primary and secondary sources, technical report writing, National Register evaluations, and HABS/HAER recordation. The ability to conduct intensive archival research (deeds, census records, etc.) and to write clear, cogent, and thorough historic contexts is a must. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong organizational skills, have the ability to manage priorities, and meet project deadlines and budgets.
