Pacific Legacy, Inc., a Cultural Resources Management firm, has an immediate opening for an experienced Office Manager with at least five years of supervisory experience in general office management and archaeological project-related duties. Candidates must have considerable experience managing a fast paced office. It is necessary that the candidate live close to the Lancaster area or be willing to relocate to that area.
Candidates must have a Masters degree or higher in Anthropology or related field and prior experience supervising field crews.
Job Capabilities:
- Leadership (decision making, team building, conflict resolution and problem solving);
- Professional report writing skills, research and literature reviews; prepare DPR site records, survey and monitoring reports;
- General office management (track inventories, office and field equipment, review employee timesheet and expenses, assist in hiring staff, manage employee training)
- Scheduling of field crews for survey, testing, monitoring, and data recovery.
- Coordinate with Business Office and Project Staffing Coordinator
- Prepare scopes of work and proposed budgets;
- Ability to coordinate and work with State and Federal Agencies, and Native American Consultation;
- Prepare and process field permits and authorization;
- Oversee lab processing and special studies coordination;
- Attend project specific meetings;
- Prepare activity reports.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate:
- Is positive, motivated and detail-oriented;
- Has experience in California and Great Basin archaeology;
- Is able to travel and manage multiple projects as well as large field crews;
- Is a proficient writer and communicator;
- Is schooled and stays current in anthropological theory and methods;
- Produces reports in a timely manner;
- Demonstrates a history of meeting project budget and schedule requirements; and
- Is able to work with the public as well as State and Federal Agencies
