Building on a decades-long career in providing technical conservation services to the design community, our mission is to apply this expertise in collaborating with some of the best contractors in their respective trades and specialties to achieve world-class project planning and execution for historic properties and monuments. Our current projects include, the U.S. Capitol, National Gallery of Art – East, GSA Veterans Administration Building, GSA Federal Trade Commission, Volcano House, and Calvary Church. Architectural Conservation Firm seeking Architectural Conservator Project Manager (PM) for Washington DC project to help run a conservation / construction project on a government building. The project duration is six months, full time hourly work with flexible hours that are mostly evening, nights, and weekends. The project site is in Washington, DC. There is a Metro stop at the building. We hope to develop a good working relationship with the selected conservator and be in a position to offer full time employment after the project. In this position, the PM will provide project supervision for construction activities, monitor work activities, work sequence, and well subcontractor performance and scheduling. They will also aid in the implementation of work. The PM will document the progress of the work with photographs and field reports. The PM must be able to work with contractors and be able to represent our firm to our client in weekly progress meetings. You will be required to obtain a government security badge. You must understand the construction record keeping and reporting process including a construction diary, submittals, RFIs, progress meetings, field reports, mock-ups, document deliveries, etc. You should be comfortable working on scaffolding and in appropriate attire. This job may require physical work including climbing, standing, kneeling, lifting, and aiding subcontractors. This is an outdoor project.
Candidate must have a graduate degree in Historic Preservation with a concentration in architectural conservation. The candidate must have a minimum of 1-2 years construction project management experience and be familiar with construction project safety requirements.
Aeon Preservation Services, llc is based in Bladensburg, MD just a few miles from the US Capital. The project site for the summer is in Washington, DC.
