This is a responsible professional planning position which requires the incumbent to possess a high level of skill and technical background in administering, coordinating and conducting technical reviews as part of the Towns land use regulatory and historic preservation/urban design programs.  Duties include: development plan review; subdivision review; annexation review; planned unit development review; reviewing and updating the Towns Comprehensive Plan; conducting or supervising data collection, research, and analysis for reports and studies; preparation of planning and project analysis; long range plan implementation and management of capital improvement projects; author and present regulatory requirements and policy initiatives; and, administration of the historic preservation/urban design program. Work requires close coordination with the Principal Planner, Assistant Director of Growth Management, Director of Growth Management, Town Council, Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, Historic Preservation Commission, other county and municipal planning and development departments, developer representatives, consultants and the general public.
