As an office manager, the director administers the operations of the State Historic Preservation Office, including but not limited to, supervising a talented staff, working with and reviewing projects within the City of Deadwood, coordinating fiscal maters and preservation issues with the National Park Service, overseeing the Deadwood Fund matching-grant program, assiting with the historical preservation book series and "South Dakota History" preservation issues, and implementing the statewide historic preservation plan. The director works in collaboration with the office directors to better serve the SD State Historical Society.

Travel is required.
