Our client is one of America's most respected and diversified real estate companies. The company has master-planned communities all over including an array of apartment communities, retail centers, office properties, and yacht marinas. Currently, the company is looking for an experienced architect to help manage the planning and design of new apartment communities in and the continual reinvestment work in their existing portfolio.
The Vice President of Architecture will work directly with apartment development senior management and project managers to manage the evaluation of sites/properties for acquisition and the planning and design of rental multi-family housing. He/She will direct and manage the work of consultant teams responsible for the planning and design of projects. The Vice President of Architecture will assist apartment operations group in the design and implementation of reinvestment projects throughout portfolio of properties that the firm owns. He/She will manage a group of architects and landscape architects, within the Urban Planning and Design Group, who are responsible for guiding the work of the firms consultants site planning, architecture and landscape architecture work for the firms apartment projects. The Vice President of Architecture will assist in the organization, preparation and presentation of materials for senior management review and approval
The candidate should be an architect or designer with a minimum of 15 years of experience in the design of apartment/multi-family housing and mixed-use projects. He/She should have a Bachelors degree in a design discipline or related field; Masters Degree in Architecture preferred. The candidate should have the ability to understand and interpret architectural working drawing floor plans, elevations and construction details, civil grading and improvement plans, landscape plans and other technical construction documents associated with commercial and residential construction. He/She should have design skills with a good eye and refined aesthetic sensibility with the ability to creatively solve design problems both independently and collaboratively. The candidate should have experience in Type I through Type V construction methods and knowledge and appreciation of community land planning, site planning and landscape architecture design.
